[Nail Art] Below $15 to DIY your own nails!

All I needed was a good boost for my nails! Decided to venture a little bit this time round, so here's what I have gotten!
  • Sally Hansen Double Duty Top & Base Coat
  • OPI Nail Polish - $10
  • Nail Sticker from Daiso - $2
  • Nail Glue from Daiso  - $2
Just for justification sake, I said below $15, because we always reuse our top & bottom coat, thus, the only $$ I spent on this tutorial was just $4 to achieve something that looks like $30 ++ in a salon. The video is a bit rusty. Still trying to figure out all my camera angles.

Basically, I started off with painting my base coat, then 2 layers of OPI colour of your choice followed by a top coat to end it. I left my nails to dry for about 3 minutes or so, before I filmed this video...

See below for results. (:

Hope you guys liked it!

[Beauty Review] Rimmel London - Glam 'Eyes Eyeshadow

Hello my beauty readers

I was google-ing the other day to see how this season Autumn/Winter 2012 (or the Fall 2012) looks were like. I guess VANITYTROVE did do their homework, and the eyeshadow quad that came along my September Trove is a definite must have in all of our makeup pouches this Fall 2012.

Introducing Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Eyeshadow Quad

Glam'Eyes and gorgeous - now's the time to start having fun with your eyes. Rimmel have made eyeshadow more exciting with their powerful silken powder formula that glides onto eyes smoothly and blends effortlessly. Your perfect shade will last as long as you can, neither creasing nor fading, making it the perfect long-wear eyeshadow

Experiment and get playful with 49 London inspired colours. And for an extra bonus, we've joined forces with our international make up artist Liz Pugh to put together an at-a-glance professional application advice piece developed for each individual shade. So with all that expertise literally at your fingertips, it's impossible to go wrong.

Picture adapted from Rimmel London

What I received in my trove, is what I believe as Shade 2 (Smokey Brun), usually, these colours accentuates blue eyes more than Asian Eyes. I must admit that it takes a lot of skills (which I have yet mastered) to be able to apply these shades on our eyelids. Otherwise, we would either look very dull (due to the contrast with our fair skin) at our eye area, or just look like a panda or someone who has very very very bad dark circles. So make sure you trial and error several times before strutting the look off the street.

What I noticed about the Rimmel shadow is that it has a very smooth texture, and it doesn't have huge speckles of sparkle in it, which I do appreciate, as most eyeshadow now comes with a lot of shimmer. I'm not saying I don't like the shimmer, but sometimes, too much for a day look, will just look... Too Much? On another plus side, this eyeshadow pigments are really strong, they don't oxidise that quickly as compared to other eyeshadows that I own. So thumbs UP for that! ( :  ( :

Anyways, I went on to start google about the latest Fall Look for 2012, and here are some of the looks which I think are pretty, and which most Asians/Singaporeans wouldn't have a problem carrying it off.

"Classic red lips were everywhere on the autumn/winter 2012 catwalks" - ElleUK

Following this, I attended the Red Lip Event for Shiseido the other day with Juvena, and we had a go at the new lippylove called - Shiseido Lacquer Rouge, it is available at $43 from all Shiseido counters. I'm honestly considering to purchasing it, but perhaps when there is a 20% SALE. I'm not really a huge fan of red lippys, but the service I received during the event was so commendable. I'm just waiting for the TANGS@Orchard to be opened, so that I can go look for the makeup artist who taught me how to shape my lips properly (you'll see it in the video)

Ok, the Fall 2012 - Autumn/Winter Look

Chanel
Dior
Jill Stuart
Roberto Cavalli
Jill Stuart - I'm in love with the blue mascara!
Dramatic Eye Look - I love how the entire look come across, so clean and sharp.
It looks like a Sally Hansen ad to me.
I would really love to do a follow up on this post, but it has been sitting here since forever! I won't be doing any tutorials for the time being using videos as my laptop is having some problem acknowledging my video format (which pisses me off a lot!)

So I guess, I'll leave it till when my bank account grows and I get a new lappy!

[Beauty Review] Shiseido Aqualabel Collagen GL Cream

Hello there you!

Just the other day, I was invited to a ZA event, where they co-introduced this product above - Aqualabel Collagen GL Cream. Didn't really had a great test of it only until recently. What was introduced was that the product works like a sleeping mask.

About the Product:
It has a five-in-one formula with high amounts of concentrated collagen! Can be used as a lotion (the japanese way of a toner), as a emulsion, essence, cream and mask all at once! What it promises is that the product has the ability to penetrated deeper into the skin layers and deliver moisture as well as effective ingredients into the skin!

How it really feels:
It has a very unique kind of gel/jelly texture. You know how some cream product can turn out to be a tad bit messy in the container that these beauty products usually come from? Well, no worry for over flowing or whats-not. This product forms back, and make the bottle look new again! love that technology. (details +++ points)

Upon picking the product up from the bottle, it feels light, soft, and upon application - all i have to say is that IT IS NOT STICKY AT ALL!! Major love for that please! I can feel the difference right after 3 nights of usage. Crazy or what. This is going to be on one of my skin care regime (I'm very lazy at night, so the best thing I can ask for is a ALL-IN-ONE product that allows my face to benefit from)

Would I recommend it?:
Definitely yes. For the price you pay, and the benefits that tags along with it, I think it is definitely worth every dime!

Retail Price:
$33.50

By the way, the entire collection is available at Watsons. Find out more on their facebook page (psst! I heard they are doing giveaways!!) (:

[Travelogue] 2D1N Johor Bahru: KSL Resort Hotel + Legoland Malaysia

Hello there lovelies!

So over the weekend, monster and I decided that we should get a short weekend trip. And since the place that we were going were almost everywhere in the ads recently, we thought to ourselves "how could we possibly miss it?"

Or more like, "I WANT TO GO LEH" (LEH-GO-LAND). Hahaha. So instead of getting a deal off deals.com.sg and etc, I decided to do it my way, and also use up my points that i chalked up with agoda.com. Yep, and we made a booking with agoda.com and landed ourselves on a friday night, after almost 1 hour of jam at the custom in KSL Resort Hotel for $80sgd (actual price $94 + taxes).

Superior King, 15th Floor, Smoking Room (asked for a non smoking, but they only had a queen + single which wasn't what we wanted, but thankfully the room didn't smell of smoke)

In the middle of the night, I think there was a problem with the aircon no matter how hard we tried to adjust the temperature, it kept staying at 24 - 25 degrees

I think they should offer me conditioner. I don't think most of us would need the body lotion?

the water flow was good, but the hot water wasn't hot enough for my preference.
The booking also came with complimentary breakfast for ourselves. Unlike what other reviewers said, I think the breakfast was rather ok? I wasn't expecting a lot, cause I'm not really a breakfast person, but when we went there, at about 9.50am, the restaurant wasn't very pack and the waiters were all efficient in guiding us in and clearing our plates.

So right after we were done with breakfast. We went to process our check out, collect his car. Oh, if you're driving, I strongly advise valet parking. But one thing to note is that it is 20MYR per entry, per day. So lets say if you were going to check in, you pay 20MYR, after that, you drive out and come back again, that requires another 20MYR. But we managed to pay just 25MYR for doing that. Just learn to be nice (:

After an almost 30 minutes drive

Queuing for our tickets. To my surprise, so many people were buying annual passes, I dont know for what, but I had 30% off my actual tickets, so for two, we paid $196 MYR
So the bottom few are some of the significant art pieces that I saw, and thought was picture worthy...

Overall, I would say that Legoland was just a place for you and your family to take photos. It was more like an exhibition of what all the great builders of these legobricks have achieved. Maybe when the whole water theme park and the hotel has been completed, then would I decide to go over and have a look at the place again.

There were only a few rides that were available, and they are all very child-friendly. I didn't take any because, I'm not really a rides person plus the fact that they didn't look interesting. I really feel that, honestly, that USS is wayyyyy better. I mean, I did take the rides in USS, and not just once (I have yet taken the battlestar and transformers ride), but that being said, you should roughly know the comparison already.

So yes, I will still say, wait till the entire place has finished all its constructions and that the highway has better signs and posters to lead the way, then maybe, you can consider going. But better to follow a tour bus, than to drive up, cause it can be rather tiring. Especially when you're new to the place.

Drop me a comment if you have any questions about the place!
