House of Seafood @ 180 [ Food Review]

July has been fantastic, maybe more fantastic for House of Seafood, because I have visited them Twice this month! (: I was here to celebrate two birthdays! One was mine, and the other was someone really special (*:
Here are the yummy photos! (:

Mushroom with Spinach
Let's start off with something healthy! This combination of assorted Mushroom and Spinach is cooked to perfection. The mushroom were easy to chew on (some abalone mushroom take forever to be broken down!) but this was just nice!

XO Spare Ribs
The XO Spare Ribs were a tad bit disappointing. I have had better ones elsewhere. Not gonna talk much about it. But the meat was tender enough for my family.
Claypot Tofu
Just another Tofu....
MY FAVOURITE CEREAL PRAWNS!!!
I love love love love the generous amount of cereal that they had given. It goes so well with almost everything possible in the this tiny world of mine! Hee! I love how the curry scent + slight chilli padi taste was infused in the entire dish. The only down side was, the shells were a little too difficult for me to chew! ):

THE BEST AND PROBABLY THE MOST EXPENSIVE - BLACK PEPPER CRAB
Weighing at 1.6kg I think, this crab was DA BOMB. Haha! I know how most people would prefer the Crab Pincers, and I do agree that they are a lot easier to handle especially when it comes to ultimate creamy sauce like the Chilli Crab, but I heard this from my dad before that, only the crab experts know how to eat the little legs of the crab. And I started to learn how to remove the shells from the crab's leg and enjoy the sweetness of its meat. It was so finger-licking good! Some places, the pepper crab can be a little overpowering, but over here, its just nice, there is even a sweetness to the dish. I LOVE IT.
The total bill for 5 pax during that night was at $190 bucks thereabouts. But for the crab, I thought it was really worth it. Damn shiok ah!

Keropok! Otherwise known as Prawn Crackers (SGD $2)
You can opt out of this is you think $2 is a little to much for a tiny basket of Keropok!
Ee-Fu Noodles with Mushroom (SGD $8)
This has got to be god sent. You know in most wedding dinner, there would always be a noodle dish after all the different main courses? THIS IS THE NOODLE. Ever since I found its existence in Fairprice, I have been cooking it at least once a month to satisfy my craving for it. It is the best soft yummy noodle on earth. Oh my god. I can eat this everyday. I'm not really a noodle person, but this is the bomb! Hee. If it is my wedding, be sure you'll have this for your last course !

Stir Fried Asparagus with Ginger (SGD$12)
Love the crunch from the Asparagus! You can tell that it was blanch lightly and then stirred fried. Otherwise it wouldn't be able to retain it's green-ish feel. Did you know that they contain high levels of antioxidents - ranking among the top fruits and vegetables for its ability to neutralize cell-damaging free radicals and a detoxifying compound can be found in it that helps break down carcinogens and other harmful compounds like free radicals. ITS JUST AN AWESOME VEGETABLE THAT TASTE GOOD.
Chef's Special Tofu (I forgot the price, probably $10/12)
I had this once or twice before, but never found it extremely delish! I still prefer my hotplate tofu that you get at tze char stores. This dish is made with homemade tofu, has some thai lemon-ish/spicy sauce poured over it, decorated with pork floss and radish slices with parsley for that extra taste!
Once again! The Black Pepper Crab has reappeared! ($25 SGD)

With its best friend - Chilli Crab
And how can we do without the golden buns? (60cents per bun)

Chilli Crab - SGD$25
Its a true pity that Jumbo House of Seafood lost to Gordon's Ramsey's Chilli Crab during the Hawker Heroes Competition. But the thing is, Jumbo may have been a Hawker in the past, but definitely not now. No idea why we had chosen that dish as it is easily replicated by many across the globe. But in any case, I used to really love Chilli Crab at No Signboard, but that was when I was really young and wasn't exposed to several options. Today if you place two different plates of crab, I will reach out for the alternative instead of the Chilli Crab. The only plus brownie points for the crab is that the sauce makes your hand stretch out for a bun, dip it in the sauce and enjoy the sweet tasty eggy chilli sauce!

The total cost for the above was $50 (deal.com.sg voucher for the crabs) + $45 bucks for the remaining dishes.

Overall, my experience at House Of Seafood has been a splendid one. They have other branches in Singapore, but due to proximity, I prefer the following:
