OLAY AquAction Long Lasting Hydration Gel [Product Review]

OLAY AquAction Long Lasting Hydration Gel

Yes! It’s OLAY again! Being an extremely popular brand in Asia, this time round, the researchers of OLAY have discovered something we would never think of! I would have to say, this is definitely thinking outside the box!

If you have watched sufficient Hong Kong drama that filmed about the historical days of this concubine who the past majesty got so mesmerised by, you will definitely have a clue who I’m talking about!

Yang Gui Fei

Working on such a historical Asian beauty, means that the products are more suitable Asian Skin Types!

Of course, there is more to the eye! The OLAY AquAction Long Lasting Hydration Gel has the following new ingredients to assist that full/pump look that every girl out here is trying to achieve; that incredible QQ and bouncy skin texture.  This is definitely the star product of the Olay AquAction range!

The lightweight gel appears light blue inside the jar and is packed with intensive moisturising agent to help boost the moisture level of our dry skin with just one application. It has proven to have continuously moisturized the skin all day long (up to 24 hours) to deliver that bouncy skin that every woman is trying to achieve.

Did a swatch on my arm with a generous amount from the jar! Funny how the product appeared blue in the jar buy transparent on my skin. No idea how that works too - Left the product alone to get absorbed by my skin while I happily re-watched the America’s Next Top Model Cycle 20 (Splash Paint). Haha! Not sure if it was because I applied an overly generous amount on my skin or my skin wasn’t absorbing the product quickly enough, but even after 10 minutes, it still appeared like that.

With the high concentration in water levels as well as how moisturising this product is, I believe for most skin types, this would work better as a mask than a daily moisturizer. I would definitely choose to use it as a sleeping mask or a RESCUE mask when I feel that my face is lacking the moisture that it requires (though that will usually be a lil too late).

Congrats to OLAY once again, for discovering the beauty ingredients behind the legendary beauty figure.

[Product Review] The Olay Regenerist Serum & Eyelash Duo!

Remember this?

Just a few weeks ago, I was introduced to this whole new range by Olay called the Regenerist. On top of the Micro-Sculpting Cream that was given to me, I also had the honour to try out 2 other products.

The Regenerist Revitalising Serum
Benefits of the product:
- Renew skin’s youthful look
- Deliver deep penetrating anti-aging ingredients into skin’s epidermis layer
- Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with moisturisation
- Exfoliate and smooth skin

Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Eye Cream & Lash Serum Duo
Benefits of the product
• Instantly thickens the appearance of lashes
• Firmer, smoother-looking lids
• Softened appearance of lines
• Younger-looking eyes that are brighter and firmer in just one week

How to use it?
The Regenerist Revitalising Serum should be used just like your other Serum - apply them after cleansing. Please apply all serum in an upward motion, because this tiny little massage everyday, will help your face defy gravity for that few minutes/hours/days/weeks and help slow down the signs of aging. So don't complain and start doing!

There are two ways to use this product. For the Eye cream, dab it under your eyes gently and do it with upwards motion. This will help to soften the appearance of lines and create the smooth looks of the lids.

As for the use of the lash brush, twist the wand out of the serum bottle and weep the serum onto your lashes. It instantly coats, thicken and nourish your lashes. When it dries, you can also place your favourite mascara on. But I only use it at night before I sleep. Juts in case, it causes my mascara to smudge.

Would you recommend either?
Because I have my own skincare routine that I try to stick close to very religiously, I try not to include other brands, just in case my face becomes overly sensitive over it. Occasionally, when I feel like doing a short massage or a leave-on-masks, I would prep my face with the Olay Regenerist Serum and massage a generous quantity into my face. After that, I leave a thick layer of the Micro-sculpting Cream on my face to allow the rest of the goodness to be absorbed. I leave it on for about 15 minutes, then I'll wash it off and apply another thin layer of the serum. The next day when I wake up, my skin feels more firm and I can see that the laugh lines that I claim to have, are not that obvious.

As for the Eye Cream and Lash Serum Duo, I would need to review this separately. For the eye cream, I very honestly, find it a tad bit too oily for me. I know that the product is able to dissolve or should I "water soluble". But despite the fact, I still find it a tad bit oily, and I dont really like the feeling after application.

Whereas, the Lash Serum Duo is an entirely new product that I have never tried before. But sometimes, I can get lazy, and I forget all about the Lash Serum Duo. But I have to say that if you're going for the casual "bo chup" look, just slap on some Lash Serum Duo, it does create a thicker appearance of lashes! (:

Once again, thank you CozyCot & Olay for sponsoring the products! Thank you readers for reading and have a great day ahead!
Woohoo

[Event Review] The Weekly's Look Good, Feel Great Masterclass by Olay!

Co-organised by Women's Weekly & Olay, I was kindly invited to attend "The Weekly's Look Good, Feel Great Masterclass" on 30th March 2013, Four Seasons Hotel Crescent Ballroom

Here are some photos from the event.

Ms Barbara Koh, Editor of Women's Weekly

Olay Senior Scientist, David Khoo, to share about the latest skincare technology for the All New Olay Regenerist range

This is the best I could get of the Superiority Live Demo! Decided to make it a .gif, so you can save the trouble of scrolling down endless photos. What happened during this demonstration was a about 5ml syringe was use to scoop up two different product - Product X and of course the New Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and placed in two bottles; shake & test its solubility. The Olay cream obviously mixed really well with the water and it was mentioned that a good skin care product is usually more water-dispersed. Because our skin main composition is water, and more water-dispersed product can carry ingredient deeper in skin layers.

With special thanks to Cozycot and Olay for sponsoring these products for me to test on. Would definitely do another write-up on the (new) products that I received - Olay Regenerist Revitalising serum & the Olay Regenerist Eyelash Duo

[Product Review] Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream

Before I even begin, I just really want to commend on the marketing efforts by Olay. Even their website impress me! It is so consumer-centric (I know it is suppose to be customer-centric), but just look at the available options. Just so thoughtful.

I mean, if they can spend so much effort marketing the product, the product has got to be something right?

What does it really do?
  • Hydrates to regenerate volume and shape across skin's surface
  • Reduces the looks of fine lines & wrinkles
  • Smoothes and brightens skin's appearance
  • Restores skin's elasticity with plumping hyrdationg
  • Firms skin over time

"Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream penetrates fast and accelerates surface cell turnover to give you visible wrinkle results starting day 1."

1 Day: Reduces the appearance of lines, boosts hydration & brightness
14 Days: Skin is noticeably firmer and skin elasticity is improved
28 Days: Reverses the look of up to 10 years of wrinkles

Where can I find them?
I believe this applies to almost ALL P&G products. They make it so readily available, that if after reading this post, and you're completely sold by what I have said, then you can just pop by to your local stores to purchase (Guardian, Watsons, Cold Storage, NTUC, Shop&Save and etc!)

How much does it cost?
Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream (50 g) costs $49.90. If you were to use it day and night (I would suggest only at night, we use the best product, cause that is when our skin has the ability to absorb all the goodness that the product promises), I believe this bottle of goodness can last for a good 3 months (the least). The price that you pay ($50), is like less than one-fifth of the La Creme by Cle De Peau Beaute! (ok, I won't compare the brands - hush)

Would I recommend this product?
OVERALLthe TEXTURE of the product is creamy, but not oily. The product SMELLS damn good please. It has this floral scent, that smells really good. The smell reminds me of baby shower gel. I don't know why. But it really smells very very good! Upon APPLICATION, not only does it smell REALLY GOOD, it also creates a smooth finishing. There was a slight tingling sensation that soon disappeared after 10secs or so. Guess that was the "firming" action on my skin. Or maybe my skin was reacting to it differently.

Of course I would RECOMMEND the product to everyone of you! In fact, I'm using this product alternatively with the Aqualabel Collagen GL Cream. (Beauty Tip: if we keep sticking to the same product, after awhile, our skin will be immuned to the product ingredients and effects, just like how pimple gel works. So remember to switch maybe every once or twice a year). Also, I got my mum to give the product a try and she was as equally impressed as I am. I mean, for the price, the quality is really good.

Till the next review!
