How to plan a birthday for that someone special

I'm not sure about you, but inspirations are pretty short-lived in my case. Often, I get inspired, or start to have ideas popping out of my head when I do... actually, I have no idea. They are usually really random on random occasion.

Yes, have you ever thought of how to plan a birthday surprise, or what you should do for that someone special when it comes to their birthday? Yes, they sure know that they have a place in your heart, but often, actions reassure these knowledge that they are there in your heart.

In a relationship, I am often the more expressive one, I hold the traits of a Cancer (horoscope) and it makes me happy to have people who I cherish feel happy. In fact, it makes me even happier to see them smile, surprised and shock in the most marvellous way ever.

Given my previous post, uploads on Instagram, Facebook and any other related social media, most of you may have already seen these pictures (:

So yes, how do you plan a birthday for that someone special?

Here are my 3 key ingredients..
  1. A HEART
    1. Your heart needs to be filled with a lot of feelings and emotions. Put yourself in the other party's shoe and think how you would like your birthday to be and how you would do it. If you set your heart to do it, and if you truly love that person, or if that person is really special, you would just do it without a doubt.
  2. ALL YOUR FRIENDS
    1. Yes, regardless if it is your friends or his friends, friends are the people who can give you the best advice, who can give you the best tips on how to create a memorable date for that special one. Some who will be willing to extend their help in making it possible for you and your SO (special one).
  3. "Nothing is Impossible" Attitude
    1. Many may not understand, but this is the top 3 ingredient as well. You need to believe in yourself that everything you plan will go accordingly. And even if you screw up, No way. Nothing is ever gonna be screwed up. Because you have had this image ran across your minds more than a 100 times, nothing can go wrong, and even if it does, you should have already had more than 1 plan in mind!  No matter what happens, everything is POSSIBLE.
Plan A

1. Plan a Pre-Birthday Dinner
At a place where you know the food is going to be awesome. If budget is a concern, look our for online deals. Just like what I did. 2 crabs for $50, otherwise it would be 2 crabs for like $90 bucks at least?

2. Purchase a cake
That you have tried before and know that your partner will definitely appreciate it regardless of what. Make sure he/she likes the flavour too! You can always pre-empt by visiting restaurants or trying out a specific fruits together to get a grasp of what he/she likes!

D24 Durian Cake from Galicier Confectionery @ Serangoon Central
3.  Be the First
Person to sing him/her the birthday song  (: and pass him/her the gift that you have bought, if any

PLAN B - The ACTUAL BIRTHDAY
Before I begin, I would like to give a special shoutout to all the friends who have responded to my urgent request for creating this magnificent experience for this boy. Without these friends, I wouldn't be able to create this surprise. Thank you Eunice & Alicia for making this possible!

1. Find a Friend
That's right, find a friend who can help you plan the surprise! Facebook Chat with them, get their numbers and start to organise. Remember to keep it within just you and the friend so that not everyone knows about it and that it would still be a pleasant surprise to all!

 2. Let them come to life
Make memories or little pieces of what you two are! Think of how the memories that the two of you have built over the years... for us, it was the Vespa..
CHECK OUT THE CUPCAKES!
Salted Caramel Flavour. The Cupcake was made to perfection. Thank you Alicia and Partner for creating this for us! Really really memorable! It was the first time I tried Salted Caramel. The sweetness wasn't too overpowering (at least without the fondant). The designs of the cakes were incredible as well. Really thankful that they were able to replicate the look of his vespa...

The Vespa was also how our relationship started. It brought us to places, and met animals that we never thought we would be that in luck to witness. It is what brings us closer to each other when we're tired at work. I hope this experience never go away
I saw this cupcake design on Google actually, and decided to replicate a little bit of it. Actually there was no true replication. It was all created by the wonderful team behind these cupcakes - Alicia and her Partner!  I love love love the little chick as well! It was suppose to represent the "Happy Hatch Day" (chick popping out of eggshell) idea.

  3. Make sure he/she is seated in a position whereby he won't see you walking towards them
Surprise him/her while they are using their phone or totally unaware of the situation.
Haha! Look at his shocking face. This was incredibly precious to me.
Although I look like crap in this photo. (*:
 4. Have the MOMENT captured
Make sure you have your shutter photo speed adjusted by that dear friend of yours who helped you in this coordination ensuring every moment is captured!

Here is him, Looking all chippy!
With his girlfriends whom he has known them since Secondary School Times!
From left to right : Mei Man, Valerie, Jennifer & Hui Shan
Thank you Huishan for being the little spy! (:
5. HAVE A BLAST
And this is us together! (:
To many birthdays ahead. (:

If you would like to find out more about the cupcakes, you may contact Alicia
