[Nuffnang Contest] THOR - The Dark World

GOOD AFTERNOON READERS!

TOP 3 REASONS WHY WE SHOULD WATCH THOR

1. PHYSIQUE

As fanatic as this sounds, yes. It is all about the body!  Look at it. JUST LOOK. How not to have 1.5hours of eye candy! (Although there will be parts where he won't be shot or be topless, but still, main character right?!?!)

I really don't care if the image was graphically enhanced or not. All I know is, I think men are only handsome when they can carry off such a look! It is a matured look where they will have the "wind in the hair" kinda look, rustic and forever in deep thoughts face, very focused!

OMG. SUPER CHARMING.
I can stare at them all day long (though, it will be extremely tiring!)

SEE THAT BODY. I bet that took a really long time and a lot of hardwork at the gym!

But while we feast on his "shots", let us not forget that he is married with a kid (India Rose Hemsworth & Wife, Elsa Pataky)

Ok.. Not to be bias. But also.. there is Natalie Portman
Look at that strong and distinctive features!

and of course.. LOKI. - Tom Hiddleston
First, nope, this don't show the kind of look that I like. This is just a guy, with  long hair. and...... mehhhh. BUT BUT BUT. I have things to say about his character. I often find him really annoying and really in-the-picture-for-nothing because.. of his character in Marvel. I don't quite get his whole idea of going against his brother and then coming together again to fight some other evil person and then become evil again. I really don't understand.

2. THAT VOICE.
Yes. Have you heard his voice?

It is so freaking deep and mature and ultimately - sexy. Just listen and watch this part!

3. SEQUEL

If you know me personally, I'm not really a big fan of sequel-movies. Because it is either I missed the first part or the second or get bored with it right? But with THOR, it is a whole new story (actually, it is with Avengers Character. I followed all 3 episodes of Iron Man, not twilight stuff.). I remembered catching the  Iron Man 1 then 2 then Avengers  then  recap movie on HBO with THOR, then Iron Man 3. Yup! That how I followed the entire Marvel Movies.

Also, I recall playing this Avenger Facebook Game and I always use thor to fight the idiots with his Mjölner
HEEHEEHEE.

SO....... If I ever have Thor's Mjölner for a day, I think.. I will use it... to..

WHACK ALL THE ERP(s) IN SINGAPORE!
So yes, I shall use the Anvil of Dawn move, go up in the air in secrecy, then pop down, STUN all of the government and bam bam bam all the ERP(s) away. Of course right after that I'm elope and hide in another country, or find time to hide the Mjölner Yup, I know it is going to be messy, with all the concrete falling, system failing. But for the fun of it and because how I know many Singaporeans dislike paying for insane dollars for ERP - I choose to do it this way, beneficial for everyone ok!

CREDITS TO THE COSTUME DEPARTMENT. Really good! It is in current fashion trend also ahh.. Faux Leather/PVC Material with black or brown falls colours. AHHAHAHA

Hi Natalie Portman, can we switch roles please?
WATCH ME SAVE THE PLANET!

Jokes aside, do remember to catch Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World” in Singapore cinemas this 31 October 2013!

[Movie Review] ParaNorman Preview Screening

Paranorman - 4/5 popcorns

Thanks to omy.sg, I got the invites to catch this show that I was waiting for quite a little while. I guess I am a real movie junkie afterall. Especially cartoons or animated movies.

Before they played the movie, a short clip was shown to explain how these characters were built in the process of making this movie epic! The production team made over thousands of faces to express the expressions of each character  - #weirdwin. Incredible work I must say, and if you have caught the show Coraline previously, you will probably have a tiny taste of what it is like to watch this is 3D.

I won't want to be a movie poo-per, but there were these few scenes that I could remember...

Norman's Uncle: "I want you to swear!"
Norman:  " Like the F word? " *innocent voice*
Norman's Uncle: "No, I want you to promise me"

Its a great movie, for both adults and their young. I think these days, movie producer are inputing comedic effects which kids would not have any idea or have yet to have the ability to grasp the "joke" or sarcasm behind the directed lines, while parents or even adults like myself would laugh at and understand what the intended line was for! So that keeps us away from feeling bored or that feel "distanced" from the storyline.

Overall, I feel that the graphics of the movie, if wasn't explained how the puppets were being created, I wouldn't have felt that it was a WOW production, but I have to say, the storyline, the built-up, the comedic inputs in between definitely created a "lighter-blue" Monday for all of us. I need to admit that I got shocked at one part of the movie when the rat ran down the stairs at his uncle's home. Apart from that, watching this show on the 7th Lunar Month was pretty light hearted, so no worries if you're afraid your kids are going to have nightmares (:

I believe the moral of the story was along the line of bullying issues and staying true to who we are and not change just because of someone or somethings that sees us different.

[Movies] American Pie Reunion & Mirror Mirror

Yes you got me right

Over the weekends, the boyfriend and I watched 2 movies. Both at shaw theatres. We were contemplating between "The Vow" <-- (which I think is a little over-raved, thus we hold super high expectation and the movie comes out as expected but lower than expectation, you get what I'm trying to say?)

Ok, so we were deciding between watching a funny movie or a romantic movie, and we decided to go with American Pie Reunion. With hopes that it is a funny movie, it turned out to be a pretty boring flick, as compared to the previous few renditions of the show.

I don't know lah, but I don't think it was as funny, or hysterical as before, because the lead actors and actresses has all grown up and stuff, and us too, we've grown up too. So what's so "WAHHH" about a naked body or high school prank stuff? Everything just "mehhhh"

Then feeling a tad bit disappointed, I suggested that we should watch Mirror Mirror (a modern interpretation of Snow White).

I must say, the couture in the movie is so so so so so pretty. From the heads of the actors and actresses involved, regardless of what cast/role they got, it is just so beautifully exaggerated! Its like Spring & Summer screaming in your face, showing you what colours and pouffiness and the old English couture dresses can look like! Making it a mini "eye-treatment" to our eyes.

Wow I will say. Super duper wow.  I think Lily Jane Collins, who plays Snow White will be receiving several movies after this hit. (But maybe she needs to trim her brows? cause they were sooo thick, but still gorgeous on her, cause she's damn fair). Julia Roberts is still as awesome as before, though this time round, her role is more towards the evil side, but I still think it is absolutely funny! "No, they are not wrinkles, just crinkles" <--burst into laughter.

I do wish that the movie was in 3D. Then the part where Julia Roberts get lifted from the water, will be just "fwahh".

The plot is mostly comedy and a good flick to watch during the weekends. Not really advisable for kids to watch though, cause... I think it would take them awhile to understand what the show is about.

The recent trend of remaking old childhood bedtime stories is actually quite heart-warming in a way or another. Because when I was watching the show, pieces of itsy bitsy memory started to piece up one by one, reminding me about the snow-white storybook that I used to read when I was a lot younger. And now to watch it, is like "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED".

I do really want to catch beauty and the beast though. I can only remember bits and pieces of it, and I don't really want to watch it in 3D, but just a normal new rendition of beauty and the beast?

Oh oh oh, and I think the next movie to watch, which is of no-relevance with the bedtime story is "Sleeping Beauty"

Its quite an arty farty show, and I think its gonna be a rather interesting flick, which I obviously, would not catch it with the boyfriend. Cause the last time we watched "Extremely Loud Incredibly Close" someone fell asleep.

So that's all I have for you today.

If you like authentic Japanese Food that is freshly sliced/diced/cooked/boiled/poached for you, and you wanna try the super delicious potato salad, stay tune, cause the next place I'll be recommending is Janice's mum restaurant which I visited last Saturday. They're closing down pretty soon in May, so yes, I will provide you guys with the loots by this weekend! (: So you can still try them!

Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 - Chipwrecked!

In theatres from 15 December 2011 (Thursday)

Good Morning VLV!

So lucky me, got to catch the movie - Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 -  Chipwrecked preview yesterday at Shaw Lido.

Not exactly a Alvin & the Chipmunks fan, but I still watch it every Christmas! Despite the squeaky sound and all, I thought the characters just look as cute as they were before they became famous in the theatres.

Being the third sequel, you may be a little doubtful like myself, on whether you should watch the show, but what I really want to emphasis is, this time round, the "mash-up" songs were a lot better than the first 2 films. But that, you have to wait till the whole show is over, to hear them. I thought it was a good rendition of all the famous songs that everyone would have heard a million times (ok, maybe 20 times) this year. -- Just what songs are they? You've got to catch the movie yourself! Its a film whereby everyone in the family can enjoy together.

The plot is kinda interesting, with a slight twist of character building in each of the character, which I felt was pretty good! At least, it kept the adult audience entertained! Ok. I guess I can't say much about the show anymore, cause there were very strict security check during the preview.

So... go book your tickets for your family today! Bring your dad, mum, brother, sister, cousins, nieces and nephews before the tickets run out! (: [ Its school holidays! - so students, USE YOUR STUDENT PASS ].

Already Famous Review

Picture taken from Already Famous FB
Surprise Surprise!

I know I know, I should be reviewing products and uploading make-up tutorials for now, but I just want to share my thoughts on this movie that I caught on friday with my bestfriend Janice!

As usual, we were both late, so we kinda missed 5-minutes of the beginning of the show. But the rest of the clip made up for it! Initially when I first saw the movie preview on insing/movies. I was a little sceptical. I thought it was going to be another mundane movie, but to both our surprises, it wasn't!

In fact, it was HILARIOUS. I can even spell it backwards for you! So the story talked about Michelle Chong (lead actress and director of film) who was from Yong Peng Malaysia - Lim Ka Kiao (Zann - a combination of Zoe Tay and Fann Wong's name) wanted to be a star very badly.

The show started of with Lim Ka Kiao being a Singapore drama-addict. The young malaysian girl then headed off to Singapore to fulfill her dreams of becoming a famous TV star. Inspired and only having knowledge of the media industry in Singapore through the H Magazine (If I'm not wrong) and television, she met a lot of obstacles.

From trying to audition for Singapore's famous "Star Search" to engaging with local carelefare agents. There is this certain sarcasm in the show talking about how Singapore's stars are turning to non-locals and emphasizing its SINGAPORE'S Star Search and  the struggle to attain a position in Singapore's Media Industry. Well, at least, that's how I view it.

During her stay in Singapore, she was working under a beauty line called "Pure Beauty", where she was working with two other male staffs who acted as gays, one from Singapore, another from Philippines. Guest starring famous local celebrities like Alaric Tay from the noose, Cynthia Koh, Kumar, David Gan, Bryan Wong made the show had more ommppph!

How can we miss taiwan celebrity - Xiao Gui, or Alien Huang, who played the role of a shy coffee shop assistant named Ah Seng. I was glad he did not have very strong Taiwanese accent, his character was rather submissive in a way.

In this show, I think Michelle Chong made it happen. Her acting skills were superb. In my opinion, I feel that ever since her debut at The Noose, it allowed Singaporeans, and anyone who watches The Noose to finally see what she was capable of presenting. She was more than a show emcee! Together with this movie, its definitely commendable for a lady like her to achieve so much in her life!

Oh! And believe me, although it was a 120hr show, you'll definitely want to stay and watch the NGs part. The little boy with the tutu's imitating Black Swan was soooooo cute!

Points to Note: You've got to understand a little bit of the Hokkien Dialect & Listen to the part when Michelle was at the coffee shop, and the TV channel was switched to football channel. Listen to what the football "emcee" was saying. (little details, little tiny details! - I Like!)

My ratings: 3.5/5 PopCorns!
